Kashish Manoj Jain prevails at Prague Open 2025, Harshavardhan third

FM Kashish Manoj Jain scored 8/9 to win Prague Open A 2025 at 23rd International Chess Festival part of Czech Tour 2025 series. Kashish finished a full point ahead of the competition. Six players - IM Damian Lewtak (POL), IM Harshavardhan G B, IM Tomas Kulhanek (CZE), IM Senthil Maran K, FM Kim Yew Chan (MAS) and IM Matyas Marek (CZE) scored 7/9 each. They secured second to seventh place respectively according to tie-breaks. The top three prizes in A Open were CZK 20000 + trophy, 15000 and 10000 each respectively. 12-year-old CM Antoni Radzimski (POL) scored a perfect 7/7 to win C Rapid event. Senthil Maran K second in Rapid

FM Kashish Manoj Jain was the sole leader 7/8, heading into the final round. He crushed FM Aras Vardanyan (LTU) in 21 moves in the final round to become a clear champion. IM Tomas Kulhanek (CZE) drew with IM Damian Lewtak (POL) and the latter secured second place. IM Harshavardhan G B drew with GM Bogdan Lalic (CRO) to finish third. The entire event witnessed a combined total participation of 612 - 172 in A Open, 158 in B Open, 153 in C Rapid and 129 in D Blitz.

A total of 172 players including a GM and 8 IMs took part from 29 countries across the world. The eight-day nine round Rating Open tournament was organized by AVE Chess z.s. at Olympik Hotel in Prague, Czech Republic from 10th to 17th January 2025. The time control of the event was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move.
